Let’s journey through centuries past and unveil the breathtaking beauty of the most magnificent Greek ruins in Turkey.

Ephesus

Our first stop takes us to the splendid city of Ephesus. Once the capital of Roman Asia Minor, Ephesus is home to numerous architectural marvels, including the Library of Celsus and the Great Theater. The grandeur of the ruins here echoes the city’s ancient significance and leaves visitors in awe.

Hierapolis

Perched above the unique travertine terraces of Pamukkale, Hierapolis is a sight to behold. Established as a curative centre due to its thermal springs, Hierapolis offers a wealth of well-preserved ruins, including an impressive amphitheatre, necropolis, and sacred pool.

Aphrodisias

Dedicated to Aphrodite, the goddess of love, Aphrodisias is renowned for its remarkable stadium and the Temple of Aphrodite. The intricate reliefs and sculptures found throughout the city reflect the high artistic standards of the ancient Greeks.

Priene

Set amidst a serene pine forest, the ancient city of Priene is a prime example of Greek urban planning. The remnants of its Temple of Athena, marketplace, and council chamber transport visitors back to the time when Priene flourished as an influential Ionian city.

Assos

Overlooking the shimmering Aegean Sea, Assos is a hilltop city boasting stunning vistas and impressive Greek ruins. The city’s crowning glory, the Temple of Athena, is one of the most majestic Doric temples ever built.

Didyma

A religious centre of great importance in ancient times, Didyma is home to the magnificent Temple of Apollo, one of the largest temples of the Hellenistic world. This oracle sanctuary, with its colossal columns, is a testament to Greek architectural prowess.

Knidos

Situated at the meeting point of the Aegean and Mediterranean seas, Knidos was a significant centre for arts and sciences. The city’s ancient ruins, including a double harbour and a monumental dedication to Aphrodite, reveal its past prosperity and cultural richness.

Troy

Last but not least, the legendary city of Troy needs no introduction. Made famous by Homer’s epic, “Iliad,” the ancient city’s ruins offer glimpses into ten cities built atop each other, with the oldest dating back to 3000 BC.

These magnificent Greek ruins in Turkey form a compelling narrative of the region’s rich cultural history. They stand as silent witnesses to the grandeur of the past, offering a fascinating exploration for history buffs and casual visitors alike.
